      • Thank the Lord for our blessings and for all we were able to accomplish for God’s beloved creatures this past year.
  • Dimes for Hunger – This initiative is generally carried out in the fall, with the goal being to better the lives of indigent populations around the world through the donation of animals and seeds. But most importantly, to give the extensive training and education needed to ensure success. Give a hand up, not a hand out through this program. Contact Laura Clark for details.
  • HOPE Food Pantry – VWPC faithfully donates food to HOPE three times each year; our months for 2023 are January, May and September. Be a part of a VWPC tradition by helping to support this worthy cause. Contact Rosa Sansbury for details.
  • Lancaster Children’s Home – Twice a year, VWPC Mission Team takes the children from the LCH out to a buffet dinner, which they truly enjoy. Participation is simple: All you have to do is enjoy a dinner and maybe a little conversation with these children. Our first dinner was March 9, second in Sept., date TBA. Contact Rebecca Bowyer for details.
  • Lancaster Back to School Bash – The Bash will be held in late July/early August, distributing to area children provided bookbags, school supplies and new shoes and socks for the upcoming school year, as well as lifting a prayer with them for a good year. You can help plan the event by attending a few meetings, or simply sign up to help on the day of the event to hand out the goodies and witness the joy. Be a part of bettering the lives of our young ones! Contact Rebecca Bowyer for details.
  • Bethel Men’s Shelter – Our Session will visit Bethel to serve dinner on March 23. Craig Denton will be preparing the chicken, and other Session members will bring sides and desserts for 60-70 men! Gather your group and create a menu for 60-70 men! Share in the visible thankfulness at the next VWPC visits to Bethel in June and September. Contact Linda Pelletier for details.
  • Prayer Pockets/Cards – Be a part of this new but growing mission activity! Help us create reminders of God’s radical love with a few hours of your time! If you can sew a straight line, please consider volunteering to create these tiny jewels in the comfort of your own home. Contact Linda Pelletier for details.
  • AG/Art Festival 2024 – Here we need your ideas! How do we best share VWPC with others? What activity or event could we hold during next year’s Ag/Art Festival that would showcase our wonderful “little church that cares?” Contact Linda Pelletier or any Mission Team member all year long with your ideas!
  • Thanksgiving Baskets – Each November, the disciples of VWPC reach out to families who might otherwise not have a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Over a period of several weeks, disciples faithfully bring in items each Sunday that WE know we will see on our Thanksgiving tables in the following weeks. Our church baskets indeed overflow, demonstrating our love for our neighbors. Everyone can participate! Contact any Mission Team member for details.
  • VW Angel Tree/Child Program – While technically not a function of VWPC, this endeavor has been intricately wound through the lives of our citizens and church disciples for over twenty years. Sponsors and participants help provide Christmas gifts for Van Wyck children, and receive untold joy themselves in the process. See Linda Pelletier for details or to help in any way.
  • VW Back to School Drive – A brand new, welcome opportunity to serve our neighbors! The same children who receive our blessings and gifts through the Van Wyck Angel Child program need and deserve new clothes to start school. This endeavor provides an exciting opportunity for the VWPC Mission Team and congregation to team up with the Town of Van Wyck Outreach Team and the citizens of Van Wyck to provide those crisp new duds for these kids! What a great way to wish them a terrific year! Yet another tangible demonstration of love for your neighbors. Contact Linda Pelletier for details.
