Spiritual Gifts Overview
“Do not neglect the gift that is in you.” – 1 Timothy 4:14
God has blessed each of us with spiritual gifts – a talent or passion that gives our life meaning and purpose to serve God and neighbor as the body of Christ. Sometimes our spiritual gift(s) is/are waiting to be discovered and yet they always need spiritual nurturing.
Do you know YOUR spiritual gift(s)?
At 10:00am during the Adult & Youth Sunday Study Group and in 11:00am worship Sunday Sept 18 and 25 Rev. Carson will be leading our disciples to learn more about spiritual gifts and we will take a spiritual gifts questionnaire together. This tool will empower our discernment process to consider where our individual gifts intersect the the ministries of the church and the needs of the world.
This Spiritual Gifts process involves three steps: taking the spiritual gifts survey, entering your results, and engaging in both self-reflection and group process.
TAKING THE SURVEY
The Spiritual Gifts survey consists of 60 statements. Some reflect concrete actions, others are descriptive traits. You’ll assign a value of 1 – 5 for each. This is a not a test – so there are no wrong answers.
You have two options to take the survey: there is a hard copy version and an Excel file. Please know the hard copy version requires you to add up the results yourself.
The Excel file does the math for you, so click the “Take the Spiritual Gifts Survey” to access the Excel file. Or print the survey to answer the questions and tally your answers.
Follow-Up Reflective Questions:
- What did I learn from this spiritual gifts survey that more or less confirmed what I already knew about myself?
- What did I learn about myself that most surprised me?
